For the past 22 years I have worked in schools in Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes in a variety of leadership roles including Second in Department for ICT, Subject Leader for ICT, Deputy Director of Sixth Form and Deputy Assistant Headteacher. Currently I am a Lead Practitioner, Assistant Headteacher and Director of the Innovate Teaching School Partnership and a Specialist Leader for Education.

I still teach a substantial timetable keeping my practice routed in day to day teaching and pedagogy within Computer Science. As subject leader in two schools, I have taken on and moved a department forward, as well as starting a department from inception in my current school.  I have led strategic school improvement projects including whole school ICT delivery, whole school CPD delivery and set up and run ITT and NQT training at the school.  On a wider basis I was on the executive committee of the Tommy Flowers SCITT and the processes and procedures I initiated for NQT induction were used by the Local Authority as an example of best practice.

I have both led and planned CPD delivery in the school which has led to embedded improvement in practice and have coached and mentored staff as ITT trainees, NQT’s or members of the teams I have led.

As a teacher who is determined that all students have the opportunity to reach their potential, being an SLE has presented an opportunity for me to share the experience that I have built up through more than two decades of teaching.  I am looking to support teachers and leaders on a wider scale in a supportive, professional and dynamic way.
