Successful mentoring for students

Tuesday, 26 February 2019 2:00 pm -4:00 pm

This course would be suitable for secondary teachers, partcularly those with a pastoral responsibility.

The course will cover:

  • the importance of a mentoring system
  • identifying students that can benefit from a student or adult mentor
  • a range of strategies which can be implemented during mentoring
  • secure intranet logging system
  • a set of scenarios with opportunities to discuss the different ways of approaching them

Course leader: Toni gordon

Toni is a Head of Year at Oakgrove School overseeing both behaviour and safeguarding; a trained Designated safeguarding Lead, Drigs office and also in charge of a successful mentoring programme.


Online Safety in the Primary Phase

This course is suited to Primary computing leads and teachers.

The course will cover:

  • the online safety needs of primary phase children
  • give ideas and examples of how to fulfil the computing curriculum element of online safety

Course Leader: Amy Mills

Amy is and Assistant Head at Monkston Primary School and a year 3/4 leader. she has been a computing primary phase lead for 10 years and is a CEOP trained Online Safety Ambassador



Mental Health and well-being in the Primary Phase

Thursday, 02 May 2019 4:30 pm -6:00 pm

This course will look at how we can identify and cater for the mental health and well-being needs of primary phase children and staff  

The course will be led by Gabrielle Wood who is the Mental Health lead and a member of middle management. Gabrielle has completed the Level 2 certificate in ‘Understanding children and young people’s mental health’
