I have worked at Oakgrove since 2011 and been in the role of KS4 Coordinator for Science since 2015. Science GCSE results at Oakgrove have time and time again been among the best in the school; not only are the science teaching team here of excellent calibre, there is a strong programme of support for underachieving students.  I am always looking for ways to ensure that we maintain our excellent track record and indeed to improve it even further.

An aspect of teaching that I particularly enjoy is mentoring the newer members of the department and I have experience with both NQTs and ITT students and it has been wonderful to mentor other teachers with a view to become mentors themselves.

In addition to my role in Science I am also the CPD Coordinator for Innovate Teaching School Partnership and took this on in September 2018 after returning from Maternity leave. This role has allowed me to experience a different side of the profession, identifying ways to develop staff in areas that are not my expertise and working alongside staff in a number of different specialisms across many different school settings.  I am always scouting for new and emerging talent, please get in touch if this is something that interests you.
